Guest Reviews

Choosing the right venue for your family holiday, friends reunion or special event can be difficult and confusing, so to help you with your choice here are some reviews from guests who have already stayed at Chateau Plombis.

Amazing! I was blown away. The house is beautiful and the art and style of the rooms are very interesting. The pool, tennis court and lawn made it fun for everyone, especially the kids. We all had a blast, even with rainy days. We could not have been made to feel more welcome, or been put more at ease around engaging with the property as if it were ours for the week! Thank you - an exceptionally memorable trip for all of us.

Chateau Plombis is a lovely environment for adults and children and we very much enjoyed our stay. Things that impressed me and added to the pleasure of our stay were the pool and tennis court, the children loved the swings, the art works and books, the spacious and homely, clean and amenable rooms. South West France is a wonderful place to explore - thanks for providing loads of information.

We had the most amazing 3 nights at Chateau Plombis at the beginning of June, booked last minute after our original chateau fell through. When we arrived we were all blown away by the chateau. The space worked brilliantly for a large party - we sunbathed, swam, played tennis, went on walks through the surrounding countryside and explored the nearby village. We were all sad to leave and hope to return soon and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking to go on holiday for a party or as an extended family or group of friends
Amazing Long Weekend at Chateau PlombisEmma from Edinburgh, UK
Our stay at Chateau Plombis was a fairy tale. The grounds are beautiful, the Chateau is luxurious and our weather was perfect. The owners anticipate all your desires, from quality linens to a gourmet kitchen. Walking distance to the quaint town where you will find a good bakery, a surprisingly good restaurant, a newsstand and a village square that becomes quite lively around lunch. Explore the grounds of the Chateau itself and you will find amazing views and lots of privacy. There are tennis courts and a pool if you are so inclined. The laundry room is bigger than some places I have lived. Nearby towns have markets and more shops if Castelsagrat does not suit your needs. Most relaxing vacation ever.
Your own castle!Sherry from Maryland, USA
Chateau Plombis is magnificent! It is beautiful, roomy, comfortable, and, well-equipped with all modern conveniences in the kitchen, laundry room, and pantry. For those with disabilities, there is no elevator and no ground floor bedroom. There are stairs but they are well-spaced and large, which makes it easy to climb. The small village is just a short walk away. A drawback for some and a plus for others might be that it is fairly isolated, except for the small village of Castelsagrat a short walk away, where basic necessities can be picked up . Any real food shopping requires a drive of 20 minutes. We did lots of walks through the countryside and small villages, played tennis and swam in the pool, or inside played French billiards or read. Never bored! We did lots of cooking and found the kitchen had almost everything one could think of.
Five Star Plus Plus!Julie from Tennessee, USA
We had a fabulous week. The chateau has been exquisitely restored and updated, with large bedrooms, modern bathrooms and a modern, fully equipped kitchen. We spent many happy afternoons lounging around the stunning pool and enjoying leisurely lunches outdoors. The pool and grounds are beautiful. Castelsagrat is a charming little village, with a bakery, restaurant and news stand. It is just a 5 minute walk from the chateau. We visited many other charming villages in the area, soaking up local history and culture, and spent a day visiting "right bank" wineries in St. Emilion. The nearby town of Puymirol is the home of Michael Trama's two Michelin star restaurant, which should not be missed. All in all, we had a wonderful week and look forward to returning.
