At the end of September a group of friends came to Château Plombis for a week to celebrate a 60th birthday. During the day there was plenty of sightseeing, and rambles from some of the local villages, such as Lauzerte – which became a particular favourite. Every evening it was the turn of a different couple to provide dinner, as well as breakfast the next day.
Suffice to say, by the middle of the week the stakes had become rather high in this ‘cook off’, and the château kitchen was certainly put through its paces during this week. Things became so serious that couples on duty spent whole days preparing and cooking food and dressing the dining table ready to put on their show that evening.
It was wonderful to see people so enjoying the fantastic cooking and dining facilities that Château Plombis offers.
