March at Plombis is a month of contradiction and delight.  Evenings are clear and cold and a crackling fire still seems like the best idea after dinner.  Fog fills in the valley in the early morning.  But then, the afternoon emerges with a suddenly warm sun and lures you outside for a walk across the fields.

14° C today and blue skies.

Hidden among the grass and on the edges of the woods, early wildflowers offer a surprise.  Everything seems to be gathering energy for the summer: the trees are budding or covered with a shower of white bloom. The grass is growing thickly again and the mowing season is upon us.  Daisies cover the grass and you might think they were patches of snow if it wasn’t so warm and if the daffodils didn’t give it all away.
